Brown

Happy New Year, all! Yale kicks off 2026 with a visit to the Pizz. Hopefully, the Alabama loss helped the Bulldogs focus a bit, and we’ll see a more concerted defensive effort today.

The Alabama game should have been a humbling experience for the Elis. Time to start to put together the strong defense and aggressive rebounding that James Jones teams are known for.

It will be interesting to see how Brown reacts to the tragic events of 12/13 and to see how, and if, the lengthy layoff affected the team. I do think that Brown is a significantly stronger team than reflected in the predictions elsewhere on this board, particularly on the defensive end.

Fortunate to only be down 1. Clunky/rusty offense so far with Mullin really saving us.

James Jones recruitment and player development is the prime reason why we have been so consistent and stay on top, in my opinion. Riley Fox second year jump is beyond my understanding.

I can’t remember a Yale shotmaker who made it look so easy. Swain and Poulakidas were incredible at it but really had to work to get their shots off. Fox is so fluid.

Much better 2nd half and great win. Not sure how much to credit our defense or fault Brown’s offensive futility.

Columbia and Cornell seem like the only real challengers at this point, amaker has harvard underperforming as is routine at this point.

yea he is legit.

i saw it last year but on one level not 3.

i only caught a bit of the 2h but heard the announcer mention fox’s body change. he is bigger no doubt but he was always wiry strong.

Looked to me like the 2H defense was better, but still saw a lot of the positiining and screen navigation issues that have been plaguing us. Fortunately, Brown couldn’t hit water if they fell out of a boat. Samson was excellent protecting the rim in the second half, I thought.

Among other issues, Brown’s foul trouble caught up with them in the second half. Riley looked great tonight.
