@ Dartmouth

The word is out. Pressure Princeton late–they cannot handle it. That’s 3 Ivy games–2 losses and one near loss at home to Penn where Princeton had a large late lead and just shut down.

Wondering why they did not put Davis in at the end there.

I don’t even mind Dartmouth’s game-winner - we had ZERO chance of winning in OT.

Sickening. Mitch has to look himself in the mirror after this weekend and search his soul. His teams just stop playing with five minutes to play in almost every game. Dalen committed some stupid fouls and some stupid drives that resulted in blocked shots (he’s had a few attempts the last two games that reminded me of Xaivian at his worst). Hicke was a miracle worker for 35 minutes then even he stopped playing. That’s two complete collapses and one near collapse in four games. How the heck does this team make it to Ivy Madness at this point? I don’t see it.

It’s the extreme youth. I think we were 340-something in returning minutes.

They’re just not used to pressure, both in the basketball sense and mental sense.

Also, Davis fouled out.

The team just stops playing defense too.

Thomas and Hinton both tied the game late with uncontested dunks.

I’m so disappointed in Stanton. His brain fart TOs sparked both choke jobs.

Hicke and Davis are juniors. They play like leaders for 35 minutes then disappear.

Mitch does so many things well, but he’s terrible at motivation and focus. His development and strategic skills just aren’t enough anymore.

Is he still the right coach for us? I give him ONE more season (next year) and then look for a replacement if he can’t deliver.

Brian Earl… please come home.

God, I don’t know how a team can look so damn good and dominant for 37 minutes and COMPLETELY FALL APART in the final 3 minutes.

I want to blame the youth but you gotta pull out today’s win after Saturday.

Well, they didn’t cover.

The contrast with the Tiger women is stark. Carla’s team is pulling rabbits out of their hat. Mitch’s team keeps losing their hat.

Maybe frequent Princeton watchers can shut me up but I don’t really think that failing to move the ball into the front court and other costly turnovers in this game can be attributed to youth and “returning minutes”.

was just awful basketball, I would be disappointed to see that in AAU much less D1

Give the guys a break. They’re young. Then go over and read about the women winning a thriller against harvard in ot after falling behind by 3 with only 5 seconds left in regulation. P called a timeout with 2.4 seconds on the clock. Watch what happened next on Princeton Athletics website.

Mitch should be the one watching. His team invents new ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I’m sure I’ll calm down later  2-2 with home wins over Penn and YALE and road losses to H and D is fine.

But man, do they have to humiliate themselves in their losses? Just lose by 12 like a normal team.

Frankly you’d be complaining either way. They are playing better than anyone expected in Ivy league play.

I got that error message again today when Thomas hit the game winner.

Something about “this is not a complete sentence” or something. Sorry, I forgot to screencap it.

Ok. Probably some limit on required length for messages.

A lot of these guys are playing deep into their second or third season. And I imagine they all have played many many games not just in HS but on AAU or similar. Inexperience doesn’t work as an excuse anymore.

That may be it. Whenever we have a tense win or loss, I’ll post: “WHEW THAT CLOSE” or “MELTDOWN COMPLETE” and get the error.

That said, I don’t think I get that message when I post a 2-3 word message during low-traffic times.

Made a change. We’ll keep an eye on it. There are a lot of settings to prevent bots and spam that we have worked through.

What fo the coaches instruct them to do as the meltdowns happen before their very eyes.
