Game Thread: Texas State

Agreed. Rebounding is attitude and effort (within limits).

I really think folks are over-reacting.
I am disappointed with the losses,
and agree rebounding is an issue.
But it is way too early to panic.

Pierce is an exceptional rebounder when
healthy. We are small, but Scott, lee and Peters
have all shown rebounding ability. If the 4 Bigs–
Byriel, Abdullah, Huggins and Happy-- contribute
anything at all, we will be fine in the Ivies.

And we look deeper and bigger than last year.
Allocco and Martini are missed, but our ceiling
remains high.

I agree with Local Tiger. The 2022-23 Tigers started 0-2 to mediocre Hofstra and Navy teams and lost 8 games in the regular season, including a 22-point beat down at Yale. We had disappointing endings against tough Loyola and Texas Tech teams and a bad all around game against a fired up Wright State team. The season is still young. Go Tigers!

Certainly, I’d rather lose in November than in March. But after Lee and Pierce both came back, I got my hopes up about an all-time great season - flirting with the Top 25, serious at-large talk. The preseason media hype showed a lot of basketball pundits were expecting the same.

That’s over now, so I hope MH uses the rest of non-conf to address this team’s obvious problems. Last year, our lack of depth was never addressed then came back to haunt us in the ILT vs. Brown. A bad case of stomach flu got to Lee and it was game over.
