Someone please explain why instead of taking his shot from the arc, Lee fakes, dribbles in and throws it back to Happy to take the three. Is that really the better shot?

Penn up two!

Again, I really feel like that’s the mandate tonight. Get Happy and Davis going - we’ll need them to win in the ILT. As bad as we look right now, even 8-6 gets us in.

Lee with a chance to cut it to 9. I don’t feel the comeback magic like before, but at least they didn’t quit.

Cornell down 6 with 3m left.

Wow. Penn can’t even get a shot off, up one with the ball and 30 seconds to play.

Of course Lee misses the FT. Doh!

Yale escapes… because they’re not us - they get the job done.

Live and die by the 3.

6-30…

Penn choked that one away. They had the ball three times in the last minute and I don’t think they got a single shot off. Yale wins by one.

Yea. Donahue in trouble.

If Donahue didn’t get fired last year, I don’t know if he’ll be fired this year. I mean, who wants that job anyway? Langel?

Hahaha oh that’s a sick burn

Not even trying to zing anyone! It’s just not a desirable job in the NIL/instant transfer era.

As ugly as this team looks right now, they have a nice record, some big wins and it looks like Pierce AND Lee might return next season.

And Harvard trying very hard to choke away their huge lead over Cornell.

ā€œand it looks like Pierce AND Lee might return next season.ā€

So is that a good thing, or a bad thing?

It’s a GREAT thing with Poulakidas and Mbeng graduating.

I keep forgetting that Lee and Pierce are still just juniors. And Lee barely played his freshman year.

They look lousy right now (especially Caden, oof), but they’re elite talents every midmajor and most high majors would love to have.

I’m afraid that I don’t share your optimism, gokinsman. Both of our stars have regressed enormously through the course of the season. The league knows their games and is making Cade look small and Xaivian look slow. If Ivy coaches and players can shut them down, why wouldn’t high majors be able to do the same?

I would say Caden has regressed overall (possibly injured?), though his 3pt shot has improved. He’s not finishing consistently or creatively and he loses contested rebounds he used to come up with.

Lee has improved greatly as a passer and his stepbacks and handles look flashier than ever. But with less 3pt shooting around him - and Caden and Dalen slumping - he has much less space to operate. So he’s less efficient this year.

I am worried too. Neither seem to want to be leaders and there aren’t any others. Every year there has been a clear cut leader of the team and this year I have no idea who that is.

We definitely miss Allocco in that regard. He had a coach’s mentality (not surprising with his family background) and commanded respect whether he was shooting 8-10 or 1-10.

Lee is the best player by far, but he’s not a vocal leader. Pierce is more vocal, but his confidence looks shot this season.
