Ivy League Tournament to Neutral Site

I still don’t understand why they can’t let the #1 seed host. The Patriot League handles it just fine.

But this is better than the utterly stupid rotational system.

Because they want to be able to plan the tournament for the heavy hitters who effectively pay for it. You can’t plan a tournament with special dinners and meet and greets with 1 week’s notice.

Those people are few and far between these days and most of those come In last minute anyway given how team looks and other priorities
I sat with major penn athletics donor at cornell
Not a lot of wining and dining going on
Used to be a good party fri night but hasnt happened last few years
Somehow pro sports can handle this….

Well, a lot of that has to do with being at Cornell. At Harvard, a lot of events were taking place.

Hopefully some good ones this year, i remember a great party in Palestra in 2018

I love the idea of a neutral site. But the MassMutual center (Springfield) and the Webster Center (Bridgeport) are both more centrally located.

Fairfield would be a great venue.

We’re hiding behind the Nylon Curtain.

I don’t know which facility will ultimately be the best, but think of this announcement as acceptance of the neutral site concept that opens the door for the next step 3 years from now. Takes a lot to break from an established mindset.
