Kevin Hovde

Actually, anti-ungvar (or is it Mr. Naysayer), the jury is still out whether Fran McCaffrey was a better choice than 20+years younger Dave Klatsky, who may be taking Kevin Hovde’s spot at UF. Time will tell, but I believe Kevin will ultimately succeed whereas McCaffrey may not, notwithstanding the UPenn faithful going gaga (somewhat understandingly) over him. And both Kevin and Klatsky are rising stars in college hoops (besides being brother-in laws), whereas McCaffrey’s trajectory lately has been downward. I prefer to be a glass-half full CU former varsity athlete rather than a glass-half empty CU fan.

You seem to be ASSuming too much, sir. And you know that in following that path, there’s a very good chance you’ll end up making an ass of yourself and anyone who engages you. Hovde and Klatsky, as brothers-in-law, is as irrelevant here as is your claimed athletic pedigree. Now I wish the brothers-in-law the very best, but to call them rising stars is a bit much - neither has so much as coached a single, NCAA division-1 game. Call McCaffery old, but also admit that the man’s done a lot of winning on hundreds of college basketball courts all over the country, during these past forty-seven years. You want to offer an unsolicited mention of your athleticism, then please note McCaffery STARTED on three Ivy League basketball championship teams at Penn. Even from a glass half-full sporting perspective, you and the brothers-in-law are viewed as complete novices in comparison to player-coach Fran McCaffery. I’d love to take a glass half-full perspective, too; but realistically speaking and at the moment, your glass contains but three unknown, incoming freshmen athletes and soph Gerard O’Keefe - sorry to point out that’s just some foam in your glass; not close to making it up to the halfway point. Kevin Hovde may yet prove himself to be everything you and others want him to be; and beginning on April 8, he’s going to have to be just that as he’s inheriting what is clearly the 364th best team in the nation!
