Pretty decent acc stats at nd
Former top recruit
His family values education and economics shouldnt be a big issue
Our Ivy League tournament legend, Darnell Forman, basically worked for his Dad in the OKC Organization so that might have been a factor also
Yes, Sir!
Very interesting and very good get by Penn.
Reading the posts on the other site, I gather that he is not a great shooter, which I find surprising for a kid who grew up with an NBA dad.
But apparently he has great moves around the hoop and a good handle, so he should be a very valuable asset. At least Fran thinks so.
I guess he came to realize he was not going to get PT @ Notre Dame, based on his assessment of the projected roster.
Not sure at what point Penn is favored over Yale for #1.
I would think at the moment that Penn and Yale have to be considered
the potential favorites. Yale will probably be good, but they lose four starters
and only have three rotation players back. I think Princeton has a good shot at
making Ivy Madness. All still very early.
no way yale shld be favored.
they likely have a good shot at ivy madness with some offseason development bumps.
the d3 kid must produce something. celiscar is imo a bigger loss than wolf (without a post game) was at this level. he was blowing up.
then you lose aletan early and the seniors.
penn is the favorite. great pickup. they get more athletic.
yale will be much less so than is typical.
I agree with James - there is nothing we’ve seen so far that would justify making Yale a favorite. They’ll have Mullen, Fox and Brathwaite back from the rotation, the D3 transfer Connor May and then one returning senior and a bunch of sophomores who are largely untested (Jack Sullivan got the most time of this group) and a bunch of frosh who are completely untested. Yale also has James Jones, which counts for a lot, but he’ll have the fewest returning minutes that I can recall; he’ll have his work cut out for him.
It’s impossible to make predictions right now since so many minutes on all teams will have new players. I like Penn’s chances to make the Ivy Tournament, but beyond that, I have very little insight into how things will play out, except that I think Harvard, Yale and Princeton have to be the favorites to complete the top 4.
Which is why I see Yale as the favorite, Penn #2.
I guess Princeton and Harvard are next.
I have no feel at all for Columbia and Cornell.
Dartmouth and Brown are works in progress.
I wouldn’t completely write off Columbia. While they’ve lost their most experienced guards (Brown and Noland), they return a bruising front line and some talent at the wing spots. Plus, second year with their new coaching staff.
It’s possible. They will need to improve pretty dramatically over how they played the 2nd half.
Fran McCaffery has as good if not better of a pedigree than James Jones and he just beat him with a depleted lineup. I’m not sure how coaching makes Yale the favorite in a tie scenario.
Not really
Lets agree jj is the gold standard and returning prodigal son is now challenging him, tommy is up there but fran beat him when it mattered most and in this transfer era his ability to recruit hs kids is greatly diminished vs fran s reclamation projects with wharton in his pocket
I see your point; I’m basing my opinion on the emotional heuristic of watching him dominate the last several years.
