Tabitha Amanze transfers to UVA

Parker Hill did pretty good.

Bella Alarie did pretty good

Hill did well, but not much was asked of her.

Alarie wasn’t a post player at Princeton. And she was a Banghart player anyway.

Amanze was out performed by parker hill, even katie theirs. Underachieved. Plenty of opportunity.

So you have a obviously talented 4 star player who underperforms then goes somewhere else (to a higher level league, too!) and is really good. Hmmm.

Maybe she’s happier. Playing harder. You have no idea. Btw, alarie wasn’t a post player???

I think you are being too hard on Tabitha. She is not really good now, she is just more confident because she is playing more. She averages 10PPG 6RPG, playing 20MPG, on a Virginia team that is barely a tournament team (in fact, they will probably not make it to the tournament). Virgina is clearly worse than Princeton and all Princeton starters have better numbers than her.

And Berube’s system has always been about post play until last year. That’s how you won a bunch of ILT. Mitchell’s dominance in the paint in ivy play was the reason you won in 2023 and 2024.

So we agree.

Yeah, I was responding to @DoubleDegree, sorry

No prob

She was not. She was a wing.

Mitchell was a great rebounder and defender. That has zero to do with Berube’s system and everything to do with Mitchell. I don’t believe I ever saw a play run for her.

UVA might not be as good as Princeton but Amanze is playing in the 4th best conference in the country. She’s playing vastly superior comp to what Princeton is. Comparing Ivy player stats to ACC stats is insane.

UVA is #65 in SOS, Princeton is #81 with way better results. ACC is not even that good this year. Louisville and Duke are really good, UNC is quite good, but everyone else is the same level of Princeton or below.

Literally most of the plays in 2023 and 2024 were drawn for Mitchell. Not for her to score, but for her to have the advantage on the rebound. That was the main plan. And it worked because she was so physically superior to all other interiors in the league that Princeton could play a slow possession game and get +10 in number of possessions against anyone (#10 in ORB in the country for the 23-24 season)

Show me the Dartmouth/Yale/Cornell in the ACC. The point isn’t if Princeton is/isn’t better than ACC teams, it’s the level of the conference/teams in which you’re getting your stats.

And are you seriously saying Princeton ran plays for Mitchell to get offensive rebounds?

Here’s what AI says:

  • Targeted Offensive Sets: Design plays that allow the elite rebounder to start near the basket or in the paint, reducing the distance they need to travel.

Do you know non-con exists?? I’m no claiming Ivy is better than ACC, please read again. I’m saying that your claim that “comparing Ivy player stats to ACC is insane” is nonsense once you realize UVA and Princeton’s SOS are very similar.

And my point also was that your claims that “you never saw a play run for Mitchell” or “that has zero to do with Berube’s system and everything to do with Mitchell” are also nonsense. A huge part of why Princeton won in 23 and 24 was due to how they utilized Mitchell’s superiority inside. The fact that you didn’t appreciate it doesn’t mean it didn’t exist.

I gave you stats and a reasoning, but I guess your bold claims have more value.

Took her a while to get there. For the longest time she started Paige Morton there, which in hindsight seems inconceivable.
