  • Unanimous selection

Surprised by Kitty winning DPoY, but glad she got the extra recognition with it. To me feels odd that Chea is an unanimous selection and Weiss is not, honestly. And not in favor at all to just give Egger an HM. I guess the fact that the Yale team went 2-12 over-penalized her, but I believe she is a heck of a player.

Nice!… pleasantly surprised to see Kitty get DPoY. Well deserved.

There are many more deserving of HM imo… Perri Page and Glenn-Bello to name a couple.

Henderson, Turner and Egger were all legitimate options for DPOY.

I agree that Egger played at a higher level than HM, but you are probably right about her team’s record being a penalty. A similar thing happened with Jenna Clark last year.

I also agree about Weiss not being a unanimous selection. Not to take anything away from the players on the 2nd team, but I think all 5 of the 1st team could have been unanimous selections.

My biggest beef is Collins from Columbia not getting 1st team over Penn’s Almqvist. I understand the stats are the stats, but if you watch the games you realize CC Collins is the best all around player in the Ivy League.

Collins is the main reason there was no drop-off after Columbia lost numerous stars (eg Kaitlyn Davis, others) after 2023 season and Abby Hsu after 2024 season.

I agree, and also considering Almqvist stats are a result of Penn running most of the plays around her, more than her being an effective player. If you look at normalized stats like shot%, wins, PPM, etc, CC is over her in almost everything.

Also considering she gets a lot of defensive match-ups with bigger players, and holds forwards being a guard, being capable to defend both guards and forwards

I hope CeCe gets to show off her great skills in Ivy Madness and in the NCAAs. She was 2nd team all league all 4 years in college, but I think she is easily one of the top 5 Columbia players of all time (admittedly its not UCONN, but she is an underappreciated super-star).

Who are the voters on these awards?

I think the head coaches do , but i’m not a 100% sure
