Devin Cannady is on the Knicks’ summer league roster. Wonder if he’ll end up with their G League team this year.
Cannady was with NY last year summer league. Not listed on this year’s roster.

So… revised starting five next year:

F: Abdullahi
F: Happy
That’s not a bad lineup at all. But unless Stanton has a Lee-like sophomore explosion or Landon Clark is the next Caden Pierce, it won’t be good enough to win the league or pull off high major upsets.
Until the league stops living in the Stone Age, it’s what we got. But I can’t help but imagine healthy senior Caden and Xaivian playing together

This has been Princeton’s toughest
off-season in a long time. We lose
Lee, Pierce (and Scott), as well as Mcconnell.
Trying to find some hope< I look back to 2000,
when we lost Chis Young, Spencer Gloger and
Carmody as Head Coack. JT III and Nate Walton led us to an unexpected title.
Stranger things have happened. I like
our returning talent, but we will need some
freshmen to step up as Konrad Wysocki and Logan did
that year.

I think they can still make the ILT in an increasingly weak league.
Yale seems like the clear favorite, but that’s mostly because of James Jones. Even they lose Poulakidas and Mbeng who were bona fide Tiger slayers. I don’t see any great teams next season.
I mentioned over on the Pierce thread that the radio silence from the program about all the negative events is unsettling.
As for the team’s prospects, I second the echo of the Nate Walton year and think perhaps it ought to be pursued deliberately, with Happy taking the Walton “point center” role. After a few years of being able to score in the half court with individual shot creation from Lee and Pierce, this team is going to have to revert to off-ball movement and precison passing to get good looks. Davis is the closest thing left for that sort of scoring, and he can hit mid-range jumpers late in the shot clock, but it can’t be a staple.
The other aspect is that this team will absolutely have to be more consistent defensively than they were last season if they want to contend. The backups last season proved that they could disrupt opposing offenses with aggressive play, getting deflections and forcing turnovers. But MH seems congenitally unwilling to rely on that style, which means they’ll mostly be trying to stay between man and basket (with the odd double-team of the post thrown in and the 1-3-1 coming out in desperation only). If that’s going to be the plan again then the defensive rebounding will have to be great, which without Pierce means a huge team commitment and no running off of misses.
