Basketball Preseason Poll

Although the official Preseason Poll is not out yet, I wanted to do one between us and include preseason votes for MVP, All-Ivy first team, rookie of the season, etc. That way we can come back at the end of the season and laugh at ourselves for what we voted.

Please, comment names you want to be added to POY and ROY categories

I’m expecting big things from Mia Broom this season. She should get lots of playing time with the graduation of Kitty and teams will be focused on stopping Weiss, freeing up Broom to drive and dish. Her range from deep is very good too.

If Katie Krupa returns to her form from two years ago, watch out.

Suggest adding Shay Shippen for ROY. Penn and Princeton will undoubtedly have a rookie who will shine.

Don’t take this the wrong way, but since Caden Pierce apparently can win the POY without playing, can we add Xavian Lee to the pool of candidates?

Hahahaha I was looking at ESPN rosters and forgot he opted out. Thanks for the catch

Agree on everyhting.
I guess Sarah Lessig would be the one for Princeton. They need a true forward to compensate for the experienced guard lineup, so she might shine there and get a lot of minutes.
For Penn I really don’t know who to add

Sussberg for ROY.

Also, I think Evan Nelson graduated.

You know something about his health that we don’t?

If/when we have info on Penn newcomer health, hopefully Altman and Scantlebury should be on the list for ROY as well.

Has a deadline been set for voting? It says the results will be revealed when voting is closed but I don’t recall seeing when that would be.

Yes, is set to be November 7th, 1pm, which is the time the first ivy league team plays their first match. Results will be shown then. That way anyone can change their vote until that day and noone gets conditioned by other people’s votes

With regards to Princeton’s freshmen, I’d add Landon Clark as a choice, if only because the PF/C rotation is so uncertain.

Clark is a mobile, 3pt shooting PF who started for two top AAU teams: Maine United (with Cooper Flagg) and Middlesex Magic. Should be perfect for Mitch’s offense.

I usually would stay away from Yale player for ROY, but it feels like there could be an opening for a freshman guard, probably Wallace. Aletan, Townsend, Celiscar and Simmons keep the pressure off new guys to carry the water, but also should take enough heat away to make it possible for a freshman to have a good year.

Nothing since non participation in scrimmage and elbow injury

Maybe more next week
