Caden Pierce lingering injury

“Banged-up Caden Pierce fighting through it to try and get Princeton men’s basketball to Ivy League Tournament”

Article mentions the ankle injury, but it’s not based on any quote from Pierce or Mitch. If it were just the ankle, one would think he would have had more trouble in the games immediately following his return.

Caden is doing the best he can, but the team needs to adjust accordingly. He’s not finishing at the rim like he used to so let him focus on rebounding, defense, passing to cutters. Let others shoot more.

He also went down hard on his back early in the season and he often looks to me like a guy with a bad back, although I thought he had a lot of the old magic last night.

That seems more logical to me. Someone mentioned he had a pad on his lower back in Myrtle Beach. Unlike a sprained ankle, back injuries are notoriously tricky and lingering.

Stop playing doctor.

We’re just observing the difference in how he moves and trying to figure it out. Something isn’t right, but he still has flashes. And his passing and defensive rebounding are still very good.

Right- so lets not play doctor when we’re not doctors.

It doesn’t matter what is exactly ailing him. We have on the record confirmation that he’s banged up, limited in practice - that’s important. He’s doing his best out there.

Agreed. Seems to play better on first game of weekend, which
will make ILT tough.

Caden played 39 minutes Friday night, Peters all 40, and Lee 37. The Cs are a brutal back-to-back road swing so the extra day’s rest is a big deal

I spoke to Pierce yesterday on the court prior to the game in Ithaca. I mentioned the Franko piece to him, suggesting that it confirmed what many suspected. He acknowledged its accuracy and stated he felt much better. He is not making any excuses for anything. He has played a lot of minutes, no question about it, but not at last year’s level.
Ironically, we can get into ILT even if we lose to Penn.

Nothing wrong with conjecture, even if not a doctor. And some of us might be doctors.

Do econ PhDs count?

You’re the man / woman to ask about this. Haven’t noticed if you’ve already weighed in on Caden and Lee being paid to play; so what do you say?
