This team could as easily be 4 and 13 as 13 and 4. Great players, but something is missing. I think that it is defense. Maybe the team needs to learn again about making stops.
Welp, now some 3s are falling. Nice to see the curse broken.
Lee never quits. He’s having a miserable game but is unafraid to keep shooting.
I’d like to see him get to the line a ton this half. Just slow the game down, chip away.
Pierce is just off this season. Sooo many missed bunnies at the rim. I feel like we’ll find out in 2 months that he had on-and-off back spasms or something.
Lee with three bad wide-open misses. Columbia nails two threes.
Yeah… it’s over now.
So apparently the cure for poor 3PT shooting is to start trying NBA 3s.
If Lee wants to shoot them, I’m okay with it. He’s earned that right.
But this is just not our day. Pierce, Lee and Davis just awful today.
They’re crashing the boards and getting wide-open 3s and layups. They’re just missing everything.
Time to let someone else but Lee shoot
Pierce from 3 seems to be the only better alternative.
Every time they threaten to make it single-digits. Columbia gets FTs off a miss.
EDIT: Welp, it’s 9pts… for now.
FOUR POINT GAME
Jack Stanton with the big shot!
Then he almost tied it with the steal and halfway-down miss.
PETERS FOR 33333
THEY LEAD BUT COLUMBIA GETS AN AND-1 NOOOO
Still alive though.
Unbelievable
I’M GOING TO FAINT
Xaivian Lee is not human
But this was truly a team effort today.
Solution: we only play 2nd halves from now on.
Had them all the way.
There was that Penn game 25 years ago when we trailed 29-3, and 40-12 at the half. This is reminiscent of that game.
MOST INCREDIBLE COMEBACK EVER
…SINCE LAST GAME.
And probably the next game.
I can’t believe this is happening. What is so wrong - and so right - about this team?!
Can they stop playing heart-attack inducing, embarrassing, proud, hideous, miraculous, games???
That game was in front of a packed and hostile Palestra, but good thought. Memories of Brian Earl.
What a horrible game - can we develop some consistency?
