Cornish

Cornish received an extra year of eligibility.

Also a good reason to post about the Big Green

they are likely to compete for a
tournament slot again with him
back. two All Ivies and one
of the best freshman in the league.

I think he’s a grad transfer

Whats the basis for his waiver being approved? Does this mean everyone is going to get that fifth year now?
Wonder what usc is paying now? I think it was $500 k last season

I’m going to guess it was because he was injured junior year and only played in 14 games.

NCAA once again grants a very generous waiver…

a Dartmouth basketball player, Ryan Cornish played 14 games in 2023-24, almosthalf their season & way more than normally eligible for a redshirt,
but appealed for an extra year and today NCAA granted his appeal.

He immediately becomes one of the hottest commodities in the transfer portal at 17.1ppg, 5 rpg, 3.3 asst and 37.2% 3-pt shooting

He did miss the whole ivy season except first game against penn so not totally without merit, dont get me wrong im “happy” that ryan gets at least $500k to enjoy the sun after four cold winters in hanover, and experience big time ball like our recent penn grads
Gonna see lots of ivy players “self redshirting” to preserve a year (and maybe two if ncaa goes to five) expect it to happen at penn with 19 on the roster and a bunch of frosh who have pay to play potential

I played in the Ivy League- barely played at all my freshman year. In tonight’s landscape with foresight, would love to use this as an “injury redshirt” to preserve eligibility while still being able to practice and improve.

…and get paid after you have improved on the Ivies’ dime.

Is it really the Ivies dime if there are no scholarships?
