Princeton -1.5
Once more unto the breach.
We few, we happy few..
We never give up.
It’s not St. Crispin’s Day, but it will have to do.
As tradition would have
So the "hopeless and embarrassed team managed to blow out a good Dartmouth team.
Maybe go kinsmen can give another pep talk next week.

You’re seriously beating your chest about a home win over a 5-8 squad? After we got eliminated and humiliated last night?
Meanwhile Penn takes care of Harvard, Brown kept it close at Cornell and Columbia played Yale close. If Mitch and the team had half of my fire and brimstone, they’d be playing for an NCAA bid in two weeks. Instead, they’ll be watching on their couch.
Honestly, this game just shows how badly the team underperformed this season. According to Mitch, the guys ran out of gas against Harvard’s press - nothing he could do about it. Funny how they didn’t run out of gas against Dartmouth’s press on the 2nd night of a back-to-back. When they play with fire, they can beat anyone in this league. Twin 17pt 2nd half leads over Harvard are not a coincidence. Nor was that 16pt win over Yale.
Mitch has always struggled to motivate and inspire his players and that glaring weakness cost us yet again. This was a very weak year and the best team in the league (Yale) was far from invincible. I’ll never understand how a head coach can just give up midseason.
“We could find a better coach IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!”
Great win by the Tigers tonight. The team looked like they were having fun! Hope we see a lot more of Peyton Seals next year.
Before the season began, I had Seals in my projected rotation based on his freshman year play. But somehow he ended up in Mitch’s doghouse and barely played until recently.
Looks like he should have been getting more minutes early on. Whitfield has had moments, but he wasn’t ready to be a rotation player.
Great win. The team played really well against a talented Dartmouth team. Great 3 pt shooting and rebounding were the difference. If they had played like tonight in the other Ivy games they would have been a second or third place team. It will be interesting to see if they can give Yale a game in New Haven. Gokinsmen, don’t be so hard on them. They’re a young team that lost two of the talented players in program history. These are phenomenal young men who are playing basketball at one of the most rigorous schools in the country. They deserve our respect and support - win or lose - and not your personal attacks.
well said.
My problem is with Mitch’s coaching. Not our players. I’ve said repeatedly that our players had the talent to make the ILT and deserved a coach who believed in them instead of turning the page to next season midway.
gokinsmen, are you related to BRF?
Go back and read your posts again. I will not repeat your words. These are kids playing a game that we love to watch. These are not pros. Before you write your next post ask if you would write the same thing about your own son. Saying a player is “terrible” or a “choker” is just not appropriate on this site.
Uh, I looked through my posts. I never said a player was terrible or a choker. I did say that Mitch has choked in ILT with the best team (i.e. the best players). Or that the team choked away a big lead, which is a slang term for giving up a huge late lead. But I never called a player a “choker.”
And I may have said a player made terrible TOs or had a terrible game. But I didn’t call a player terrible. Obviously, this is D1. You have to be elite just to play at this level.
Anyone who visits this forum knows I’m the biggest Princeton homer, constantly hyping up our players all season. That’s why I’m so frustrated. I think they were absolutely good enough to make the Ivy Madness.
That said, I admit I’ve been very hard on Mitch. I will try tone it down now that the season is coming to an end.
Haha, I remember that guy’s site.
“A talented Dartmouth team.”
KenPom 268 but sure, go with that.
