Well, at 6’ 8" he should be a commanding figure. Also head coach @ Portland for 10 years.
Interesting hire for us. A lot to like.
Really happy with this hire, especially given the timing of Mike’s departure. Excited to see what he can do with some of the big men who are already in the program, given his knowledge in that domain.
Will be interesting to see how he fills his staff this late in the cycle. I have to imagine that Tyson Wheeler will be headed elsewhere, seeing as he didn’t really get a look at the HC role.
Reveno may want Wheeler to stay, given his familiarity with the players and program, leaving a decision to be made after this year.
One wonders if Penn’s success with McCaffery influenced this choice.
