Final Three Men's Basketball Games

It’s been a very disappointing season for Columbia Men’s Basketball Fans The early season victory over Villanova raised hopes that the Lions would be competitive in the Ivy League for the first time in nearly a decade. The Lions also looked somewhat decent in their very easy pre-conference schedule. Unfortunately, things fell apart quickly once the Ivy League season started. So Columbia is now situated in its customary cellar berth with a 1-10 record with just three games to go, namely, Princeton, Penn and Cornell. It would be nice for the players if they were able to win one more game, but it doesn’t seem likely. Of the three final games, I would say that the Lions best chance of winning one game would be against Penn

Praying that in just a couple weeks time, the school will be announcing a search for a new head coach. It isn’t Ivy Madness, but it’ll be a nice way to end the season.

I will be praying as well, but I am in the camp that believes that AD Pilling is unable to terminate Coach Engles for legal or personal reasons. It probably will take a player revolt of some kind. Nowadays, a few unhappy players can force a coaching change simply by entering the Transfer Portal together. That will certainly do it. However, such action needs to be done quickly, and not in “…a couple of weeks.”

"Legal or personal reasons… ". Come on, man.

Legal I don’t think so, you can always terminate someone’s contract. If it’s personal reasons would mean Pilling is not capable to do his job. The only concern I have is that the current economic situation of the university might discourage spending any extra money, which can mean Jim stays an extra year at least, if his contract doesn’t expire this year

Last minute news. DLR seems to be warming up as everyone else with no apparent signs of pain or injury restriction

And in fact, he just gets in 3 min into the game

Geronimo was far from 100%. Nice to see him back and trying to contribute but his mobility wasn’t all there. Hats off to the kid for his effort.

I’m just glad he can play tomorrow on senior night
