Game Thread: Loyola-Chicago

Probably the second toughest opponent in non-conf (after Rutgers) and possibly the toughest defense we’ll face with their length and athleticism. Nice to have this game at home at least.

According to MH, Xaivian was “under the weather” vs. Northeastern. We need him to be on his game vs. Loyola-Chicago.

Added event info. Game on ESPN+.

Nice recovery after a bad start, but the offense is still searching for chemistry.

They look like they’ve never played together before.

Bad defense by CH Happy

A lot of near misses on backdoors against the Rambler overplay. All the subs are messing up the timing, I think. Fortunately good three-ponit shooting so far.

Got to do a better job on the defensive glass. The intial D has been inconsistent but not terrible.

Abdulahi lob dunk is pretty cool.

That was a spectacular alley-oop from Lee to Abdullahi.

This ain’t your daddy’s Princeton.

Princeton has to adjust to the way the refs aren’t calling fouls on hard contact. Loyola is not shy about bumping and holding.

Jake Scott finally gets on the board with that baseline drive reverse layup. Not bad.

Lee drew 5 fouls all by himself… but the refs stopped calling them once we got in the bonus.

Should’ve shot at least 6 more FTs. I thought home teams were supposed to get the 50/50 calls?

At least this team has experience coming from behind.

Guess I missed some news. What’s up with Huggins?

He’s played 2 minutes - ESPN boxscore goofed.

That said, Abdullahi got the start today.

Oh ok, tks. I can’t get tv where I am.

Yea I don’t get why Huggins is not playing. He takes heat off Caden and rebounds.

Abdullahi is 4-6 today. Nice hookshots and an electric alley-oop.

Biggest problem today is Loyola’s team is big and physical and the refs are only calling about half the fouls.

Two DD treys assisted by Lee in a row, one from Xaivian in a sitting position, gets the lead down to one. Tigers are still not consistently guarding the Rambler’s main three-point shooter, but he missed a couple of wide-open looks.

I’m curious - if you can access internet to post, why not access espn+ ?

Hicke with a couple nice buckets before airballing the 3.

Lee struggling with all the added attention at the rim. Gonna have to shoot more jumpers until they’re in the bonus.

I don’t get it either, but I’m in Mexico City. So I’m not complaining, just glad to have gamecast

I really do not understand what Byriel is bringing to the table.
