Fair enough, Vonsid.
He had Martini to help out.
Peters is missing so many open 3s this season. Ugh.
Davis keeping us in the game.
Still a lot of defensive mistakes, a lot of missed bunnies at the rim, a lot of missed wide-open 3s.
But they’re playing a lot harder. That’s progress.
I really just think they need to play with more confidence. Be aggressive. Attack on both ends. See what the refs will allow.
So far this season, officials seem to be swallowing their whistles when players go hard.
Actually, gokinsman, Blake shot 41% from three over the first 6 games. Not too shabby!
Once again the Tigers blow an 11 point lead
Welp, it wasn’t pretty but it was a big improvement.
A halftime lead! 43-41. Let’s hope we continue being a much better 2nd half team.
Huggins not a shooter from three nor from the foul line. Byriel can make the occasional 3 and hits his foul shots.
Agreed. Byriel is way too soft on defense, but he’s 6-9 and can shoot. We gotta give him a chance. He just needs to be more physical. Use up your 5 fouls, young man! Most centers can’t shoot FTs anyway.
Jack Scott is the one in my dog house. He seems like a great guy and beloved teammate, but he is just too much of a liability on offense and makes a lot of mistakes (the Brown loss being a prime example).
I was impressed with Scott’s scrappy defense, especially on the few occasions that the Tigers played full court press last year. He can be a black hole on offense, though. Get’s the ball, dribbles too much trying to back down his defender then takes some brutal shots. He seems to play hard and is deceptively big for a guard, though, so I’m glad he came back.
As a short-term defensive sub, he has value. If Pierce gets in early foul trouble, put Scott in.
But he shouldn’t be playing big minutes.
2 putbacks allowed on FTs. Oy.
Tigers giving up a lot of cheap board again tonight.
Blake misses the widest of wide-open 3s.
We have more 3 point shooters than big defenders. Disagree on the Byriel contribution. We need stops and rebounds.
Blake has to make those because he is a real weak spot on defense.
We have no size
Peters is killing us.
Great play by Blake!
