The last time Yale lost in Hanover was 2015 (the Maldunas Incident). Harvard might have nothing but pride to play for by Saturday. Here’s hoping for 13-0.
Surprisingly, Harvard (nor Brown) is eliminated w/ a loss on Friday, but effectively yes they would be.
I struggle to view Dartmouth as a serious threat to Yale, believing more so they’re the “best of the rest” (so far) of a weak Ivy League who have successfully distanced themselves from the others with hot 3-point shooting and high attempts.
Harvard, is well Harvard. Amaker brought the Ivy League to its new level in recruiting and has been lapped since Covid.
i will never forget the game referenced above.
this dartmouth team is likely better than that one.
i think you will learn a lot abt this team over the next 3. it is natural to have a let down and i am not sure what positions you best for ivy madness?
i do know how hard it is to beat someone 3x. this week we had to do it for the fourth time.
spreads went from ~30 to ~10 but we pulled it off. pressure is so palpable when it is one and done!
I found this article written by Mid Major Madness particularly interesting, as it somewhat describes factors leading to the Big Green’s impressive offensive growth from last year (61.9 ppg) to this year (78.8 ppg per sports-reference).
I have to agree with the opinion that Dartmouth may not be a particularly serious threat to Yale’s current dominance (hopefully not to change soon). However, I don’t see their recent success as the result of a fleeting hot streak as it’s evident that the team has vastly improved as the season progressed on both sides of the ball. Maybe it’s because of the changes implemented in the offseason or because of Cornish’s return.
I think that much of the discussion on this board is pretty Pton-skewed due to their two largely under-performing superstars (esp. Pierce). However, despite Pton’s starpower, I’m convinced that Darty is the most capable of pulling off an upset against Yale if they don’t maintain their season-long defensive integrity, especially if Mitchell-Day plays.
