Important weekend for both the men and the women. The men need to at least split on the road and the women need to win both at home. The men really need Bedri back but I don’t think that’s in the cards this weekend. Women need Weiss to get back on track. Go Lions!
Rafiu not in the lineup for the women.
85-58 win. 10 steals (and 10 points) for Nasi Simmons - this is maybe the fourth game in her year and a half where she really looks elite. Now can she string games together?
I think Nasi Simmons has been a great defender all along. She is elite everytime she steps on the court. She just has been not getting a lot of playing time. Riely’s bad shooting streak and Susie’s injury may be a blessing on disguise for this team b/c some are stepping up into leadership (e.g. Perri, Fliss) and others are getting more well deserved playing time (e.g. Nasi, H.F. [excellent german transfer]). We cant just rely on outside shooting from Riley to win.
Terrific second half for Columbia. Our new center played very well and Nasi Simmons broke the Columbia program’s record for steals. Next up is an undefeated Brown team with a standout guard. Chances are that Nasi Simmons will be guarding her.
