With the old board in distress, I’ve finally decided to join.
Just saw that 6’7” Isaiah Carroll, a Californian wing at the Blair School, committed to Penn.
He’s a 3 star wing who played for Harvard-Westlake in LA. Umass and Northeastern were his final 3 but I saw offers from Cal Poly, Seton Hall, Seattle, Hofstra and Cornell.
More great news. Continuing to put too much stock in the verbal commits ratings, Penn now has 4 of the top 7 recruits in the league next year. Harvard did get an off the charts kid in Singleton though.
“[McCaffery told me that] you’re gonna be a big piece here next year, and you’re gonna play as a freshman, and have the chance to start … I feel like I can make an impact right away,” Carroll told the DP.
It’s interesting to see how many wing-sized players the new staff is adding. To my recollection, Geremia is the shortest player they’ve added so far while everyone else (Lueth, Power, Kamin, Kruse, Lin, Pereira, Finley, and Carroll) is listed at 6-4 and above.
