Ivy Tournament 2026

Hinton was a no show

need to get to a running start, can’t go down by a lot early like in previous Penn games

I amend my prediction: yale -25

James Jones gets it DONE despite the #4 seed having homecourt.

The only time Yale has been upset in the ILT was 2023 when Princeton had the same 10-4 record but Yale had the head-to-head tiebreaker. He’s also won the ILT three times as a #2 seed. Damn damn damn.

Fran McCaffery has done an amazing job as well this season. Won it with grit and toughness against a Harvard team that was playing with a ton of confidence. No matter what happens tomorrow, it’s mission accomplished for Penn this season. And not in a George W. Bush kind of way.

The actual line is 9.5

Don’t ruin it for me! I was about to get 25pts!

Nah. I like to get you guys going.

I wasn’t getting my hopes when we came into this tournament . Figured winning @ Cornell would be tough and Harvard would be another toss up. Now, not winning tomorrow will be a disappointment. Trust in JJ.

Crazy to think that a mere ten years ago (and only nine seasons), Yale had made the NCAA tournament exactly once in its history. Had just come off the Gabas Maldaunas Experience too. Yale stuck with Coach Jones and it paid off big-time.

Jones inherited a mess from kuchen and finished outside the top 4 like once since 99
Don’t think there was a question esp from guy who hired him
The loss to Harvard at the palestra was the pinnacle in many ways coming from the depths

I wish the younger folks knew how bad what he inherited was and how dominant Penn and Princeton were for many decades to frame it

Also James is an underdog. Most of us expected Yale to hire pikiell and we’re surprised by James even though we had been coached by both and liked both.
Tom beckit man

The rise of Harvard enabled yale-admissions/recruiting,support etc

Regardless tmrw is a toss up: for us old enough Penn and Princeton are the blue bloods not yale

We are on the third turning. We went from a duopoly with unfair admissions and support to harvards rise behind amaker to Yale’s level set to now quasi nil
Penn has come back with transfers. So look out

I am hoping that we are finally back to consistent contention after our years in the wilderness. I don’t think the Ivies will ever go back to being a duopoly; a more competitive league is better for all of us.

Penn has a long history of transfers, this isn’t something new. Going back to the 1980s, there were transfers on pretty much every Quaker team that made the NCAA tourney, as well as any number of transfers in recent decades when Penn hasn’t been nearly as successful in the league.

Part of my point.
I was recruited by penn and played against them in the Bowman and maloney years.
But the third turning means we (they) are back..quality of transfers is what matters
I mean IRA Bowman was a stud from providence and Matt maloney was a known shot mkt from vanderbilt
Tj power was one of top recruits in the country etc

James has admissions now thanks to tommy amaker and James success (who wants to go back to unfair era)so yes no duopoly unless Penn goes full nil and no one else follows which would likely mean they leave conf anyway

Hat tip to princeton- they were awesome in the 90s w Yale’s admissions. Esp 98

All my posts chronicle history under another topic recently
