We are out-manned at every position.
I am most interested to see if Davis does better against taller and stronger defenders, than he did at Akron, specifically perhaps passing a little earlier in his dribble into the lane.
Fantastic defense early. Forcing TOs. Hicke on fire.
Davis struggling mightily from 2. Bad TO on a fastbreak to give Kansas an and-1.
Jayhawks will win this but at least our guys showed up ready to fight.

I think KU is at 16 points on 25 halfcourt possessions (minus the three breakaway steals). Definitely helped by poor shooting and missing Peterson, but really encouraging.
Really don’t like the Hicke pull-up jumper offense that seems to be the default this year. I get there aren’t many other good options but it’s so out of character. (DD does it too but he at least makes them at a really high rate.)
We get blocked at the rim so often there’s really no choice.
Davis is really savvy at drawing FTs. Let’s see more of that this season.

KU only leads 37-29 at the half. Outstanding effort on defense. If not for Flory Bidunga playing an A+ game, we’d be leading.
I’m sure Kansas pulls away in the 2nd half and wins by 25+, but this game was already a HUGE step forward.
Only negative note for me are the sloppy passes, leading to 7pts off TOs. But that’s just inexperience. It’ll get better with time.

It was a terrific gameplan and defensive effort. Just too many unforced TOs and Flory Bidunga singlehandedly kept KU afloat for 30 minutes.
Three more passes to no one. In a row. Not the way we want to finish this game.
KU wins 76-57. I wanted to hold them under 90. They held ‘em under 80. Bravo.
Not to mention it was 44-43 @ 14:23 in the 2nd half. Great gameplan, outstanding defensive effort.
We desperately need a quality center. That’s really what’s missing from MH’s teams.
