LaSalle

Down 53-38 to the Explorers with 15:57 to go. The rest of the way, an incredible comeback led by Power going wild and great contributions by little used Jay Jones off the bench, part of some key substitutions and in-game strategy by McCaffery. Hung on for a 73-71 win despite a boneheaded turnover out of bounds under its own basket which gave LaSalle one last chance to win it.

Can’t remember the last time we came from this far back to win a game against a city opponent like that.

I caught most of the 2nd half and was very impressed. Penn has the ability to make the ILT and pull an upset or two.

Penn, with a season to sort out playing time, can win the ILT outright. By March the league should realize that.

Tough game. Power and Roberts didn’t have much left in the tank.
