Caden… oy vey.

Had an easy 1-on-1 drive and commits the dumb offensive foul.

Another game where it looks like every shot at the hoop is an uncalled foul and then they get Cade on turning into the defender who is up in his grill.

It was in no way an intentional elbow.

Our guys just aren’t driving, cutting, shooting confidently.

They’re actually getting tons of stops this game.

I hope Davis is “on” tonight.

Huggins has active hands and feet.

Nobody touched DLR on that 3pt try. He just fell down and got the call.

HUGGINS coming up BIG!!!

Free throws and the clutch block!

Hope he has earned a start Sunday.

He looked so promising in the season debut vs. Iona.

Blake to the rim!

Blake Peters for… TWO??? I’ll take it!

Lee has had some big defensive plays tonight, including 2 big blocks.

Pierce has solved his early season free throw shooting woes.

WE SURVIVE.

Still looking good for the ILT.

A very nice win considering it was on the road vs. a hungry Columbia team that got Rubio DLR back. He obviously wasn’t close to 100% but still a tougher matchup than other teams have gotten.

Caden had a great stretch in the first half where he looked like his old self. But he still isn’t quite back. I’m glad he got the stat-pad FTs to boost his confidence.

Lee had his usual stat-stuffing game, but I wanna give the game ball to Jacob Huggins. What a HUGE boost he gave us off the bench! He “iced” the game with 3-4 big plays (including clutch FTs).

Just win baby! How about Jake Huggins with the key block and clutch 2/2 from FT line.

Whether or not he starts, I want to see Huggins play 20+ mpg vs. Cornell. It’s game we can afford to lose, so give him a shot to build on this performance.

It’s amazing what a few big plays can do. The team just came back alive down the stretch.

At Levien: a not atypical game at Levien really. There is something physically wrong with Pierce. He was stretching in some unusual ways - he would get the ball in good positions off the pick and roll and look to pass instead of scoring - or had trouble finishing. Had a decent game in terms of productivity but not the same guy.
Peters and Hicke stepped up offensively but both got banged up. Peters appeared to be more seriously injured with frantic trainers but he came back.
The rotation of the bigs - Happy looks like a freshman, Byriel helps space the offense but was getting torched on defense. Huggins had great energy and length - there was a time that he kinda got confused on D but recovered to create a turnover. When he set screens for Lee, Columbia would double and ignore Huggins - will need to develop a counter to that.

Peters said in the postgame that it was just a cramp, which is a relief.

Is it Pierce’s ankle that’s still bothering him? Or do you think it’s something else (e.g. his back)?

He played so well in his first few Ivy games that I thought his ankle was fine. I remember Allocco dealt with back pain/spasms, though you’d never know it from his gritty, clutch play.
