Men open league play at Cornell this evening at 5pm. Both teams have strong backcourt play and I’m hoping our improved frontline is the key to victory tonight. Should be a close game and certainly an indication of how good we are, will be. Go Lions!
Any indication of the status of Brown and Bedri ?
Big win!
Tremendous game between two outstanding Ivy League men’s basketball teams with Columbia coming out ahead 104-99. Senior Blair Thompson had the finest game of his career at Columbia scoring 26 points. Senior Kenny Noland scored 23 points and Hampton Sanders had 17 points for the Lions. Both Columbia and Cornell shot the very well. Chances are that Columbia and Cornell will both qualify for the Ivy League Championship Tournament. The Lions are clearly the second best team in New York City behind St. Johns’s
I thought we were done when we lost the lead early in the second half. But we pulled it out, winning by 5 when KenPom had us losing by 1. Noland with 23 now has exactly 1000 pts.
And all this has been done without Bedri and Brown.
Second to St John’s?? LOL
most combined points in a regulation ivy game since 1991 (Brown 115, Harvard 91)
I’ve been hesitant to believe in Columbia after they went 1-13 last year despite a stellar non-conf.
Tonight, changed my mind. The Lions are for real. Beating this Cornell team in Ithaca was very impressive.
