Men Defeat UAlbany 93-65

Mediocre first half, followed by a 2nd half blowout of UAlbany. This was possibly the first game where we didn’t get significant production from our frontline. Good to see others step in and compensate. O’Keefe, Sanders and Igoe all played very well and Nweke gave us some good minutes. On to Stoney Brook.

Like your summary of the UAlbany. O’Keefe is indeed a world class basketball marksman. O’Keefe, Noland and Thompson are all deadly shooters. Despite the absence of two of our key players, Bedri and Brown, the ship keeps rolling along. Without any updates from the Columbia Athletic Department on the absence of Bedri and Brown, Columbia fans are forced to speculate on the time of their return. Presumably the goal is to get them back by the start of the Ivy League Season, so it is unlikely that we will see them in the final two pre-season Division I games against Stony Brook and U-Cal.

Yes, well, 3 pointers were not falling during the first half but we still managed to score 36. Much better 2nd half tho. Incredible O’keefe. And I believe if we keep giving Nweke some playing time he is going to become a super dominant force inside.

About Brown I have no idea. It’s been a couple weeks he has not been wearing the mask, so I assume his face injury is recovered.

I heard Bedri during the Hofstra game say he still doesn’t know when he will be back but he guesses at some point during December. He wasn’t wearing a boot anymore so I guess he has started active recovery. I think we will wave him back for North Florida, not sure if he is making it on time for Cal

I heard Bedri’s original timeline was 6-8 weeks.
