Nazareth

Had to check if Nazareth made the leap to D1 - no they are still D3 - normally the D3 game is after a long break.

I don’t typically watch the D-3 games but I thought I’d tune in to the Nazareth game. Tigers will obviously win this going away but this is a painful watch if you care about the little things. Tigers have given up EIGHT offensive rebounds to these guys with 5 to play in the first half. Cade missed his first three free throws. Dalen was blown by and taken to the hole a couple of times, and Huggins and Happy have been posted up and scored on by smaller guys. Tigers just have to clean these things up.

Makes me wonder what Mitch’s pre-game message was today. I hope it was more “let’s go out there, play loose and have some fun today” than “let’s clean up the mistakes we made in Myrtle.”

There’s NL on this game.
Nazereth is playing a game @ 6:oo PM tonight so they most likely will make the 6 hour bus ride in the rain for tomorrow’s tilt.

Fat chance finding a Nazerene with money burning a hole in his pocket willing to bet on this one.

So let’s post about Columbia. An Ivy football championship in the bank and a basketball team that usually doesn’t win 9 games before Candlemas. What’s going on???

Got the alert on ESPN, then saw the bench in at the 4 minute mark - and then checked if this was the D3 game.
I’m not sure anything useful can be gleaned from trhe D3 game - seen benchwarmers have big games - freshmen light it up only to never ever get PT. The only meaningful d3 game was the one the lost under Joe Scott.

We only out-rebounded by two in firt half. :scream:

I wonder if this game was scheduled before we got a spot in the Myrtle Beach tournament.

Thanks for the reminder.

Tigers look sharper in the 2nd half. Up by 35 and playing Pierce, Lee, Happy, Abdullahi, and Davis. That’s a combo I would love to see play together more.

Seeing Kit Mueller’s son = Georgetown flashback.

Boy does he look like his Dad!

I wasn’t aware he was even on the team. I guess Austin’s leave of absence left room for a walk-on.

There’s not much you can tell from a D3 game, but I do like seeing CJ Happy make multiple threes again (4-8). If he simply knocks down a couple wide-open looks per game, that’s huge.

Next game is St. Joe’s on Tuesday. I want to see the guys in revenge mode after the Myrtle Beach meltdown.

He’s also a 4* lacrosse recruit. I don’t think we have had a Bball-Lacrosse player since Jason Osier. It’s a tough combo given the seasons’ overlap.
