Penn/Princeton II

Totally. And you can see the game slowing down for him, too. That (hard!) charge he took tonight? He recognized it and was in position what seemed like a full half second before. (And to his credit further, he stood his ground easy.)

Absolutely agree about Mbeng’s development as an offensive player. A credit to him and the Yale staff. The handle and decision-making, not just the shooting and scoring, are much improved.

+1

Bez has the highest 3P% on the team right now, at a tick over 42%. That alone is a game changer, to say nothing of the fact that his defense has improved over the course of the year (remember in the noncon, how he’d pick up a bunch of early cheap fouls by getting handsy in space?) He’s putting together a PoY campaign.

I think Mbang is Yale’s MVP. Poulakidas and Townsend have been terrific and each legitimate PoY candidates but I’d vote for Bez as we stand today. His defensive capabilities are without peer in the league (that I’ve seen), he’s the QB of Yale’s offense and his shooting has started to catch up with the rest of his game.

His ability to shut down the opposing team’s best player has been outstanding while also leading the team in assists. We’d be lost without him (same thing could be said for Poulakidas and Townsend)

Noah Savage, who I think is the Ivy’s best color commentator, completely missed Bez when talking about Ivy POY last night. Believe he brought up John, Townsend, Lee, Kino, Cornish, Nazir Williams without even mentioning him.

As we stand today, I think it’s clear that the top 3 Ivy POY candidates are Townsend, John, Bez with those 3 being Ivy 1st team locks. I’d assume Jones nominates John for the POY and Bez gets ivy DPOY with those two being seniors.

Still a lot of games to be played.

I’ve also been impressed with the defensive abilities of the other two Yale starters, Simmons and Aletan - they’re big parts of Yale’s smothering defense. Steals and blocks are great but I love it when opposing teams are unable to get off a shot before the shot clock expires or have to heave up a prayer from way outside (so long as the prayer goes unanswered, of course).

kudos to poulakidas for battling hard on the glass last night and on d.

had to be maddening to have that many roll out particularly from 2 in front of nba scout row

it’s a nice feature to have simmons who was able to effectively stay in front of lee when mbeng had to sit.

those two +celiscar help yale better match up w brown’s athletic bigs should it come down to that.

When did Bez start shooting the lights out? When he put up his first 3 at the Y @ Princeton game, I said to my wife “let him shoot that all night long” not expecting him to hit (and keep hitting). You have a very nice team. Ivy Madness can be treacherous, though.

danny wolf just lit up osu on the road

17/11/5

ran sets under 2 mins. all time what if

yea and no shit on ivy madness but thanks bro

Danny Wolf is viewed as one of the favorites for Big Ten PoY. As well as a first round draft pick. Yale is so good without him but curious how the pieces might have fit together with him. And we’d have had a Wolf and a Fox!

I’m waiting for another Riley Fox breakout game so I can dust off “What Does the Fox Say?”

I tried to get Teen Wolf going for Danny, but it didn’t take off smh
