Woof. League could be rough next year without AK and Lee.

Early rumors seem to be that Kentucky is the front runner for Lee.

I was higher on him as a player last year than this one. He didn’t improve as much as I thought he would. Still has kind of a set shot that can be streaky, and still needs to get stronger for the SEC, let alone the pros. He has elite quickness though. That’ll translate.

it’s so incredibly frustrating to see him go to the transfer (especially when he sort of alluded to me that he was gonna stay loyal which, if i was smart at all, would’ve known that was bullshit), but it makes sense. he can go get a huge bag at some “ivy+” like michigan. i wanna see him succeed so badly, it just sucks that it can’t be here.

I’m ok with it. I think the team may operate better going forward. I wish him all the success in the world!

Hard to fault him for looking at his options
The Prince reports he may get 7 figure offers.
Not a Kentucky fan, but will always root for him.
Maybe he really has not made up his mind yet,
and will weigh what he hears through his agent
on pro prospects.
Also wonder how this impacts Davis.

Tigers were mediocre last season. This is quite a blow to absorb, especially after the coaching housecleaning. Hard to see how the team returns to contention in the near term. I am too old to adjust to the professional game on the collegiate level.
Can Pierce be far behind?

Naw you knew dude.

Good call.

I have to imagine MacConnell getting fired had to have pushed him over the edge.

Some shade from Malik Mack

I don’t remember the media reaction after Mack left, but I’m assuming some were critical of him for leaving?

Either way, Lee stayed for another year after his breakout season, so it’s not the same thing. Personally, I don’t blame Mack or Lee.

When people search for negativity on social media, they’ll find negativity. Can’t imagine any big time media was commenting/throwing shade at Mack.

Random Twitter accounts told Mack he was foolish to consider leaving Harvard before he did.

The only actual media members who—very gently—recommended that he stay were Domonique Foxworth and Andre Iguodala, both of whom interviewed him while he was deciding what to do. But they didn’t criticize him.

Twitter pile-ons, even from randos, suck, but it’s weird to be holding onto that a year later … especially when he had such a poor season. Maybe worry about that!
