Looking for signs of life.
Mitch has quit on the season and the players have followed suit. Brown isn’t even in the ILT hunt and they still play harder than our guys. At this point, I’m just curious if anyone steps up during the last 4 games.
Whitfield hasn’t shown much despite being in the rotation all season. And Happy has been so bad on both ends, Huggins could win the starting job a senior. Jacob and Malik seem to be the only two guys (coaches included) who aren’t hanging their head and going through the motions.
Huggins gets the start. Tigers start out fast and sharp, hit two quick threes and go up 10-4.
And the Tigers go ice cold, get sloppy, and the Bears go up 23-14. Good night.
11 and a half minutes in and not a single screen. Five guys playing by themselves.
42-37 Brown at the half. Tigers got some fast break baskets otherwise it would be worse.
Nice to see Seals step up.
14 assists on 17 field goals. Tigers showing signs of life.
Davis has had some very poor turnovers.
Landon Lewis is too much. Great to Seals step up. Some positives to build on. We a need a true point guard.
Poorly conceived passes + bad passes + bad hands = no bueno.
Davis never showed up tonight
At some point, surely he must realize there is no future in dribbling into the trees. Take the three, take the midrange, or give it up.
Hard to win when your opponent shoots 61% from the floor. We need a bigger center who can protect the rim and make 10-12 shots inside like Landon Lewis. We don’t get many easy baskets.
This season was over when lee and pierce bolted.
Dalen shot 2/9 with 5 turnovers and only 1 assist. His habit of passing up open shots from deep to dribble into trouble is a real problem and on the rare occasion that he dishes off the drive a turnover is often the result.
Welp, I called it before the game. Just a sad showing from a team who’s given up despite being very much alive for Ivy Madness (well, not anymore). Brown was better coached with more focused players. Dalen had his worst and dumbest game ever.
4-10 feels locked and I wouldn’t mind finishing dead last. Mitch needs a wake-up call and the returning players could use the extra motivation next season.
On the bright side, playing so poorly should ensure no significant transfer losses
. Only Hicke might be coveted (stats are stats), but he’s a not high major athlete and a low six-figure NIL isn’t worth giving up an Ivy degree.
There are reasons besides money to leave; take Scott → Duke.
If you correctly infer that Davis is unhappy (personally I don’t see it), he could transfer to another program with a better overall chance for success, and also escape the senior thesis burden.
Paragon Balling!
One thing was struck me was that during the last couple of minutes of the game, down by 7, Princeton played with no urgency. They didn’t make Brown win it at the free throw line and when Brown went to milk the clock, the Tigers were content to let them. I’m not saying a different approach would have won the game, but I think it would have given the Tigers more of a chance.
