Most are saying Cornell -5.5. ESPN Cornell -6.5
Give me Princeton with the points.
Cornell destroying us as expected. We really needed that 2-0 Harvard/Dartmouth road trip.
Mitch still can’t figure them out. No other team looks so helpless.
Looks like an old time a** whoopin’.
Layup drill
Other teams keep up with Cornell until they run out of gas in the 2nd half.
Mitch just plays the same as always. Never adjusts.
They looked good when they played uptempo at the end.
But I doubt Mitch noticed. He never does.
Oof. This just embarrassing for the program and the players.
My apologies. Your negativity was well founded.
Mitch only beat Cornell’s system when he had a massive talent advantage. No longer.
He’s also a poor motivator when things go sideways.
Cornell is playing harder up 30 than we have since the Yale game.
Zio time
Welp, time to turn this off.
I feel bad for the players. Mitch didn’t prepare them at all and let them get humiliated. Again.
Put in the subs.
They should be embarrassed giving up a million layups
Just a reminder that we should easily be 5-0 right now. I’d forgive this truly embarrassing effort if Mitch TCB’d vs. Harvard and Dartmouth.
I really don’t think Mitch is the right coach for us long-term. Forever grateful for the 2023 Sweet 16 run, but we need a change.
Bring Brian Earl home.
For a team which supposedly did not play good D, Cornell seemed to swarm all over the ball.
Our guys made it easy on them. Move slowly. Don’t cut. Pound the dribble. Never attack in transition.
There was a brief moment at the end of the first half where our guys matched their energy and speed. Cornell was on their heels for a second, but Mitch went went back to his losing strategy in the 2nd half.
Just a massive coaching failure. Terrible game plan. No adjustment at halftime. Guys just slumped their shoulders and gave up.
They shot the lights out and we made nothing.
I get that you don’t like Mitch, but it is hard to hang this all on him.
I am concerned about Stanton. He can shoot, but has made himself invisible.
A reminder that we lost by 32 the previous meeting. These routs are not bad luck. It’s a head coach who refuses to change a losing game plan. Trying to slow Cornell down is not a winning formula. Play at their pace and rely on superior individual talent to win out over 40 minutes.
As further proof, Penn led wire to wire and won by 10 today. They played at Cornell’s pace and the Big Red faded over time. I’ve seen it over and over in non-conference and in Ivy play but no one told Mitch, I guess.
This hideous loss had nothing to do with Xs and Os. I have not seen so many guys not bending their knees on defense, not finding cutters, letting a guy with the ball go unguarded, etc. in a long time. No box outs on Cornell players flying in from the outside.
And then the inability to hit any shots, by either mainstays or supplemental scorers, was debilitating. Horrendous decisions on when to dribble and when to pass, with everybody looking surprised by where the other guy was moving, no one in rhythm. I would consider burning the tape.
