Yale closes out the regular season at home. None of the games this weekend matter for Ivy Madness seeding, but a win would still be nice for momentum’s sake.
Saturday is senior day as Arlington, Simmons, and Townsend will be recognized. As reported in the YDN, this senior class has already set the school record for most wins as a class (87 and counting; prior record 85 wins by class of 2025). Hard to see the record climbing indefinitely but it is a nice testament to Jones’s growth of the program over the past 10-15 years.
It’s been rumored that Samson Aletan will graduate this Spring, after only three years. I hope it isn’t the case but, if that’s the plan, will he be honored too? Next year’s senior class would have a shot at topping this year’s seniors in total wins if they could top the 21 wins from 2022-23.
You should be happy for him. Graduating “The Yale” U in 3 years!!

very happy for him. and for xaivian now playing well for my wife’s gators! lfg
and, for you and your insights as always
A win would also be nice to keep from sharing the title with Harvard.
Not too smug, jimmy
i give princeton credit. while their board didnt understand the cause for the jadwin debacle (bookmarked)- their defensive philosophy against us has been somewhat embraced leaguewide subsequently
we have to be physical on o and d and make shots. we got physical in h2 but too manh open misses to beat cornell at their place is my guess. must do both next w/e
big red are hot
Excellent analysis James. Your knowledge is most impressive!
i think you were the dip shit talking up the princeton team post yale.
good call doofus
You seem ruffled, James. Calm down. No need for such intolerant language for a man of your intellect. It’s unbecoming of you. ![]()

!!!
i was pissed. just watched a ref call a foul on emory w 0.5 secs left in a scrum up 1 in the double bonus.
worse than watching yale shoot 34% in the paint against princeton in 1h
but it worked out in ot. on to the sweet 16!
i am 50 but if you bring it up weak in the paint i am still 6’10, bra![]()
Ok James. Hey, good luck in the ivy dance! You guys give the league a shot in the big dance. 50? I’ll trade ya!
Watch out for those Yeshiva Macs!
Any eligibility left by the new rules??? Princeton could use you.
haha. i bet my nephew last night after his game i could still grab the rim in jeans. i think i won but he disagreed. the loose breakaway rim didnt move much. i was proud of the effort with no injuries but a little humiliated he was so confident ![]()
no matter what happens in Ithaca; a core of Mullin, Brathwaite, Fox, Celiscar to pair with Sullivan, the incoming bigs, and some of the frosh is very healthy. certainly we lose a ton, again assuming samson graduates early.
hopefully our collective retains the aforementioned group
Brathwaite has emerged as a real dude. He has moxie, is very athletic, plays both ends and has range. Celiscar can lead the half court offense like a townsend type. Fox needs to work on his on ball defending but is tantalizing.
the trick is as always retention. And we are in an era where Coach K’s old comment on Yale and the Ivy from 10 yrs ago is just no longer true. it is the inverse.….We keep getting younger and they stay the same age (or get older). As he said in 2016 “ Yale is good and old.”
Sadly we saw this against ‘Bama already. Guards win in March. The Ivy champion no matter who it is–is just more disadvantaged against older, all star team guards in March.
that is forgetting the size disparity down low.
ICYMI:
crazy if 10’ goal
i dunked my first time on a fast break in 8th grade. i was 6’ tall.
i dunked my last time at 49 like this gentleman on a bet. i was 6’10 and 315 and it was a real stretch
i am now 275 and almost 51. maybe there is one more in me
doubt if. gravity is a biyatch
