Princeton @ Temple

A rare Huggins finish over a defender at the rim, then a Stanton trey. 51-55 after the Temple response.

The 1-3-1 forces the turnover, now time to come up with something out of the TO with 1:26 left, down four. Happy on the backdoor!

Consecutive nailbiter loss #7 on the way…

Real Hotel California scene down the stretch for both sides, stabbing with their steely knives but they just can’t kill the beast.

Stanton just can’t hit those pressure 3s yet.

I thought it was a nice inbounds play, though, to set up the previous 3 attempt by Hicke that did not fall.

WE DID IT!!!

SEVEN STRAIGHT LOSSES BY 5 POINTS OR LESS!!!

Tough loss

Stanton not quite the killer sniper yet.

Tough loss, but they had good looks down the stretch. This was one of the few Tiger games where I wasn’t that conscious of how many possessions they were ahead or behind throughout because the flow of the game looked so natural. A few better defensive possessions along the way would have made the difference, or hitting a couple more treys.

I will be interested to see how DD fits back in once he’s healthy. I think it will be a boost, but he will have to adjust to the greater confidence of his teammates.

It’s just comical at this point. This is the worst season since Sydney Johnson’s first year.

Then again, they could easily be 10-4 if they just had a healthy Davis. Just need two more buckets OR two fewer turnovers per game. Either one. And getting by far your best scorer and by far your best ballhandler easily accomplishes that.

If Dalen is healthy and ready to go on Jan 5th, the league might be shocked by how good this team is. If he’s still banged up all year like Caden was… we’re an easy pick for last place.

The announcers mentioned someone was Princeton’s number one recruiting target, but I didn’t catch the name. Did any of you hear it and know anything about the kid ?

this was first game I’ve seen this season, and only caught the second half. Yikes, I was hoping/counting on improvement from last year from Huggins and/or Happy. Didn’t see it tonight. I don’t see them winning more than a few ivy games with this kind of center play.

Current or former recruit?

I gathered it was a high school senior. I think the announcer said he was related to current temple player

Hmm, interesting. I didn’t catch that. I hope it’s a big man because we desperately need one.

As you heard, they were extremely complimentary about Mitch.

Dalen Davis missed his eighth straight game due to a right ankle injury.

Henderson offered little clarity on when he may be available.

ā€œHe’s been doing a little bit, but we’re hopeful and our fingers are crossed,ā€ Henderson said. ā€œHe’s going back to Chicago and there’s a little magic dust they can sprinkle on him to help him come along.ā€

Doesn’t sound like he’s close to coming back. At this point, I’d be shocked if he didn’t at least miss the first 2 Ivy games.

Mitch has to get more shots for Stanton until Dalen comes back. Waiting until the final minute of the game to draw up plays for him is not a winning strategy.

Current junior. Declan Griffiths, whose brother Gavin plays for Temple.

internet says he’s a 6’6ā€ wing
