The UCLA and Pepperdine games in mid-November are likely scheduled for the family and friends of Skye Belker and Ashley Chea. In what appears to be a 4-team early season tourney hosted by Richmond, the Tigers will face two tough teams: Murray State finished 1st in the Missouri Valley Conference with an overall record of 31-4, and Richmond finished 3rd in the A-10 (behind Rhode Island and George Mason) with an overall record of 26-8.
On the recruiting front, Lauren and her staff seem to be off to a decent start: she’s already added two bigs to the list of commits in the Class of 2027 (rising seniors) - Samantha Clevenger, a 6’5" C from Denver, CO, and Nimah Ibidunni, a 6’2" G/F from Douglasville, GA, who is #76 on the ESPN 100 (now branded the “SportsCenter NEXT 100”). And one commit in the Class of 2028: Jordyn Welsh, a 5’11" G from suburban Pittsburgh, PA.

Albert, would you happen to know the status of Brooke Busby and Draden Moss? They were both listed as commits earlier in the year but have heard nothing of them ever since. Thanks for any info you may have.

Draden Moss had clearly committed to “the admissions process” at Princeton, and those commits usually enroll. But she is not included in the announcement of the members of the Class of 2030 in posts on the team’s X.com feed between July 6-9. I don’t have any information about why she is not included. It could have been a decision of the admissions office, or it could have been her own decision. The only thing I found online was an Instagram account in which as part of her personal description, it says “UNC 30’.” But I went to the UNC Chapel Hill team page, and she isn’t currently listed on the roster. Or maybe it’s a different “UNC”?
Brooke Busby is still committed to the “admissions process,” but she is a rising senior at Cannon School in Concord, NC, and will graduate in June 2027. In addition to Clevenger and Ibidunni, that recruiting class includes Angelina Habis, a senior at Windward School in LA, Skye Belker’s high school.
For those who follow WBB, some may have wondered what happened to Margo Mattes, who entered Princeton with the great 6-member Class of 2027 - now only 4. She traded in her basketball shoes for an oar and is a member of the Women’s Rowing - Open Roster:
