Does anyone know why Jake Novak’s informative Lion’s football blog has gone silent?
I used to check on that occasionally and found it informative. It seemed to deteriorate though. Lots of argumentative posts and most of it anonymous and unmonitored. He moved it to a paid Substack format and I lost interest.
You are spot on! It became a forum for some uncalled for nasty back and forth between anonymous posters. I do however miss Jake’s detailed info about the W/L prediction for 2026, his analysis of the incoming class, transfers etc.
Agree. I thought it was useful info on CU football. Wish he’d bring it back and turn off the comments. I did look up the new site today and didn’t see any updates.
My guess is that Jake is very busy with some other things in his life, but will comment on Columbia football when he has a chance. Of course, it would be nice if the Columbia Athletic Department hired someone with the ability and interest to provide regular updates to the fan base.
Football staff has plenty of people to do this.
I agree with you that the football staff is certainly capable of preparing regular updates for the base base. Of course, that would be totally different from a blog like this. Maybe Kreeker would be interested in stepping into the void.
Sarah Parady is the person for these things. There are frequent updates on Instagram as well. At least 1 per week.
