To basketball-u. The Columbia and Penn communities are active there but there are no new users as the admins no longer take care of the site. It would be nice if someone that can post there can let them know that, and propose them the idea to migrate here, to ivyleague.chat, so that the community can keep growing

We have posted about this new site in the General forum over there. The basketball-u site will not load right now for me to even bump that post. As soon as I can get on over there I will post again.

There are a few Columbia menā€™s fans on the other site. I have attempted to join for about a year as well but unable. Will try to use this going forward.

Looks like there has been a backlog of people trying to join the other site. I was not aware that the old site was effectively closed. Welcome to all the new members, and thanks again to Admin for setting this up.

The old site was closed to new members for a number of years. Maybe members of the old site will continue to get the word out there to move over here (especially all of those Penn fans - a majority of the posters typically). And Kudos to the folks who organized this site - it is really appreciated. Given the early use by Princeton fans, I assume they are Tigers but, even so, it is a good thing.

There was an insanely racist POS troll who clearly lost money on the Yale/Penn game and made multiple accounts to spew the most disgusting crap he could think of.

Perhaps there should be a 24-48hr waiting period for new accounts? Unfortunately, the evil scourge of sports betting has spread as far as Ivy basketball. You see this stuff on Instagram/Twitter, but I didnā€™t think randos would be going onto Ivy fan forums.

Seems like he has a VPN or a dynamic IP from his ISP. I think a 24-48hr waiting period would be the best way to deal with gambling addict trolls.

Make them wait a day or two to post and theyā€™ll have moved on to their next meltdown.

The old site is completely open to new members and has been since October.

And basically, the majority of the Penn discussion goes on in that board, but posters of other teams are mostly absent. Some of us post on this board as well.

Thanks, I saw that. I check out the old site from time to time to see what Penn fans (and one Harvard guy) are saying but for some reason I donā€™t feel too motivated just now to do so! Go Quakers, beat the Illini.

as a Penn fan Iā€™d prefer if everyone came on this site. Far superior in every way. Too many old timers thoughā€¦..canā€™t teach an old dogā€¦..
