Women's Awards

Nice recognition for the women:

Riley - 1st team and POY

Perri - 1st team and DPOY

Fliss - Honorable Mention and All Academic

Really happy for all of them. Especially Page, she deserved a huge recognition for the step up she has taken from previous years

I agree. She’s improved every year and become a great player. Also happy for Fliss, whose career was in jeopardy when she left the team with her back injury.

If Fliss can improve her eager to pass the ball when she is in a position where she feels there should be an easy pass (recognizing when the defender is going for the ball), and improve her open 3 shooting and consistency in layups, she is going to be a very important player next season. That kind of player that plays with a triple double watch every game.

Columbia should be significantly stronger at the point next year with Fliss Henderson, Mia Broom, Nasii Simmons and the very talented newcomer Chloe Dix amongst others

When did the IL start awarding the coaching staff of the year instead of coach of the year?

Of note, the entire Princeton starting 5 got All-Ivy recognition. I was surprised Chea got honorable mention bc her game has gone a bit south compared to last year.

I thought Rafiu was in contention for All Ivy recognition, but she didnt quite put up the numbers. She is very talented and improved every year.

I’m not sure Columbia will be better next year without Page and Rafiu. We can hope.

Agree, replacing Page and Rafiu will be big shoes to fill. Feldrappe and Erinugha are the most likely candidates to provide some defensive presence in the paint next season… maybe Tor, Jaama and/or Mitchell too.

I know many expect first year players to contribute right away, but it just doesn’t happen very often.

Wondering that too. Am also curious if Princeton wins that award if Columbia pulled out the win vs Harvard last weekend.
