I had a chance to see Yale practice on Friday. The big 3 of Simmons, Townsend and Celiscar have no peer in the Ivy. I see Celiscar playing 3 positions, depending on the opposition. Aletan has some more offensive moves. Sullivan has offensive moves. Mullin needs some more consistency at the point, which he will certainly handle in the out of conference. Wallace is tremendously skilled. Shooting from 3 needs some work. Big gap in my opinion between Yale and Harvard, who has moved to my no. 2.
My son said Wallace and Jack are good! How did the other 3 freshmen look?
daniel ogunyemi from powerhouse milton, ga will be a beast in this league.
the question is when given he is behind a couple of the above players rutgers cites who are already beasts in this league.
daniel has the strength motor and shotmaking ability to be all ivy one day.
he tormented my teams loaded w power 2 recruits for 4 yrs.
mark it.
fwiw i wrote exhaustively on the old board abt celiscars potential upon his commit.
still cant figure out how we got him. he was elite in hs.
yale has another in waiting. daniel is a little less twitchy maybe a tough bigger but similar man strength tho a more consistent shooter at this stage.
there is a lot of value in tweeners slipping into our hands esp having watched what both can do to my sec recruits.
Put Townsend and Aletan on any Ivy team and that team wins the league, IMHO.
i probably agree though i also agree with rutgers yale needs to find its pg and some outside shooting to solidify its frontcourt adv.
What you say is most true for the out-of-Ivy games, and especially (optimistically) the NCAA tournament.
perhaps though last year harvard at their place showed it can be overcome…
now you have to do it without mbeng and poulakidas. it isnt a slam dunk no matter the state of this league
