2026-27 Roster

Twenty players listed. Four first years. Earn your playing time, boys.

William Higgs
Position: Center
Height: 6-11
Weight: 265 lbs.

At long last, an actual center with a college-ready body. Looks like Higgs may be a big time steal too. He was a prospect on the rise who transferred to Northfield Mount Herman for greater exposure… then suffered a season-ending knee injury. But now he’s healthy and filled out his frame.

Still just a freshman but I’d give him plenty of run during non-conf a la Landon Clark.

Yup- he’s got legit size. We’ll see if he’s got game.

And doesn’t ditch basketball for molecular biology

Tigers can do both. No worries.

Mason Hooks decided he could not.

True. I thought he was quite good on tv!

anybody know anything about Ethan Sabec? Pretty good size.

Don’t know. Size is surely needed.

That’s a lot of guys. At least practices should be competitive.

There’s a bunch of players from last year who seem a half-step or a step away from being much more effective. If a couple of those make the step, no one regresses too much, and perhaps a freshman can chip in something (especially at the center or PF spot), then the team could be pretty exciting. Having a core of guys who played together a lot should help with coordination, as long as trauma from close/bad losses doesn’t carry over negatively.

I know it’s not such a rare thing these days, but I still can’t grasp the idea of a 6’8" guard, thinking about the incomprehensibly tall (to me) 6’9" Chris Thomforde at C.

I think Magic Johnson changed the game and it evolved to where you basically have no old school low post play, especially in the pros. Even the bigs have to shoot treys.

I’m looking forward to not hearing “this team has no seniors” on repeat during every telecast. 5 seniors, 5 juniors, 6 sophomores… pretty strong roster. Give me a healthy Davis and Stanton along with the depth this team will have and I like our chances. Main concern is point of attack on defense and need 3pt threat out of either 4 or 5 position… Davis, Hicke, Abdullah are all strong finishers if you give them room to operate. They can’t do that if teams feel they don’t need to guard someone on the perimeter.

Hopefully the returnees take a few steps forward and a freshmen or two give ya something. We’ll see.
