Temple (ESPN Events Invitational)

Hitting some big shots to stay in this thing.

Right now, I see this one as a pick ‘em.

We keep passing up good looks and turning it over. So damn frustrating

Stanton overpass leads to a shot-clock violation. Gotta shoot from there.

Our guys are scared to shoot. Like they’ll be benched for missing.

Stanton nails a midrange and a 4pt play, then immediately refuses to shoot again.

First half the Tigers were doing all the little things right and Temple wasn’t. Complete role reversal in the 2nd half.

It would be nice for someone, anyone, to show some confidence and take a tough shot confidently.

Temple has made multiple bad/tough shots this half. You can’t always wait for a perfect wide-open look.

Tigers have been aggressive at the rim, but they haven’t finished well. I liked Clark’s drive but he missed the shot.

I like that too. Hicke did the same and got FTs.

And Stanton just hit a contested 3 now.

This is what I’m talking about.

Hicke with the confident tough buckets! They’re finally taking my advice.

It’s late, both teams are tired, you can’t wait for a perfect look. Just get “your shot” whatever that is.

Hicke! nice reverse move in the post.

Refs have been consistent in calling this game pretty tightly. Lots of guys holding their heads after a whistle on both sides.

We don’t shoot FTs well. Or 3s. Or layups.

Hard to win like that.

Killer FT miss by clarke.

We’ve been shooting FTs better than Temple tonight but gotta make them when they matter.

Looks like Temple is salting this one away. I’d let Stanton take some 3s. See if he can catch fire.

Well, those who complain about MH’s analytics-based emphasis on not fouling should be happy about tonight’s performance.

That would be me. And it worked. Temple has shot poorly from the line.

We just missed too many of our own FTs and open shots.

Two missed front-ends of 1-and-1s. That’s 4 pts right there.

Very frustrating game. Tigers just hit one of their stretches where nothing goes right. Two missed front ends of one and ones. Hicke rolls a few off the rim that almost go down. There’s 8 points right there.
