Tosan

The wild card is that he came to the game very late, and is still improving.

He still may have an NBA career.

I guess he’s gonna play out the rest of the NBA season in G-League. Injuries happen and maybe he gets a late callup to an NBA team. But if he can’t land a full contract, I definitely think it’s Euroleague time.

He could also join the British national team for Eurobasket/FIBA World Cup qualifiers. That’s often a great showcase for fringe NBA players.

At this level, any player who isn’t still improving is moving backward.

Or staying the same.

At this point, the NBA is all about a combination of skill and athleticism. In the frontcourt, with rare exceptions, it’s an above-the-rim league, and he doesn’t have that level of athleticism, though the skill level and basketball IQ are solid.

Tosan to Charlotte on a two way deal.

Hornets on the upswing.

And it is not true that the NBA is only for hyperathletic above-the-rim guys, That’s silly. Mark Brunson, Nikola Jokic, Steph Curry, and on and on are super-successful without explosive leaping ability. They are all great athletes, but not with that particular superpower.

Jalen Brunson!! I had to!

Glad to see Tosan get picked up, but it must be exhausting to be stuck in “two way” hell. Getting that first full NBA contract is so hard.

I hope Tosan takes a page out of Jeremy Lin’s book. In his first “Linsanity” game, Lin said he was determined to fail/succeed being himself. In other words, be aggressive and play like you’re a starter. Better to go 1-10 than 1-2. Better to make 5 TOs than be afraid to make a great pass.

Leave it all on the court, Tosan.

The Penn guys who own the Hornets texted me the irony of signing a Princeton guy today. Could be a good spot for him.

Well, his uncle went to Princeton.

If you can’t beat him, sign him!
