I don’t think he really had a shot with the Knicks. They’re committed to their two way players, Diawara and McCullar, and his basketball IQ wasn’t enough to give him an advantage over those guys. Diawara is 20 years old, 6’9”, mobile and can shoot the ball, while McCullar is also 24, but is 6’6” and has been able to pull off a respectable Josh Hart impersonation in limited minutes.
As we regularly find out each NBA season, the idea that the players in the league are a discrete cut above the ones outside is inaccurate. There are probably at least twenty guys capable of being effective on an NBA roster for every spot, maybe 100 or 1000. The experiment never gets run, so this claim is conjectural, but an example from farther up the food chain is how backups no one has ever heard of turn out to be effective during periods of injury to rotation guys, a la the Denver Nuggets right now. It’s a lot like Hollywood–you need some breaks and some connections.
The other things that are critical are that the player needs to accept the role the coaching staff defines for him, his skills need to fit the team’s system, and he needs to be able to be consistent, even when his minutes aren’t consistent.
Trey Jemison III is one of the now two, two way players on the knicks.
Jemison has also played well in spots. Like most teams, the Knicks rotate their two way guys, given that there’s a limit on the total number of NBA games they can dress for.
Hindsight is 20/20, but Tosan probably should have used his 4th year of eligibility to play for a power conference team.
Coming off that Sweet 16 run, he could have gotten a 7-figure NIL bag and high major exposure. Maybe that gets him drafted and thus a better chance at a full NBA contract.
Tosan is now with the Celtics G-league team in Maine. He had a very good first game there.

Another excellent game.
The ten assists suggests he was allowed to actually handle the ball, which is a plus.
I don’t know if you clicked through to the highlights, but he shows some varieties of shooting: 3-ball, teardrop, and fadeaway.
Bad timing for a calf injury:
he looks terrific.
good luck to him!
Hope it’s not a torn soleus.
Was Tosan injured?

Evbuomwan (calf) is out for Thursday’s G League game against the Grand Rapids Gold.
Evbuomwan is nursing a calf injury, which is costing him at least one G League contest. Considering the severity of the issue is unclear, the forward can be labeled as day-to-day going forward.
Thanks. Was playing so well. Hope it’s not too serious.
Tosan is back in the lineup for Maine.
Sunday 31 minutes, 12 pts, 7 rebounds, 1-6 from 3.
Monday Allocco started, 15 min, 2 pts, 4 assists. Poulakidas 20 pts in 31 min, 6 of 8 from 3.
Tosan has to keep working on that 3 ball
While Tosan could have transferred, he missed the big NIL money by a year. I am sure he got more playing 50 NBA games. The problem is that while Tosan was a great player in our league, he’s just another guy at the NBA level. At that level, he needs luck to fit in as a role player for the right coach. I agree that getting a good Euro contract is probably his best option at this time.
