KenPom as of today
83 Yale

Princeton could easily end the season with 4 wins or fewer in Ivy play.

I am thinking this way:
Yale
Cornell
Columbia
Penn
Harvard
Princeton
Brown
Dartmouth
I am quite sure of two things: 1. Yale is Ivy champion and at least a tournament finalist . ( Ivy could be a 2 bid league if Cornell hangs on in Ithaca) 2. Princeton will not reach the ILT. A healthy Dalen Davis might boost the Tigers into 4th, but his return is by no means a sure thing. More likely heāll head to the portal with a year left.
Or two years left if he sits out the remainder of this year.
It sounds like you are not sure about zPrinceton because you are not sure about Davis.
Unfortunately, that is where we are.
well it looks like the Tigers will now be in the dog fight for the fourth spot in the tournament after Yale, Columbia and Cornell based upon what I saw in games last nite
Dalen returns in a big way! I am very surprised but Henderson gives as little info as he can re: injuries. Hard to believe he went from unavailable a week ago to carrying the team (with Stanton of course) in a crucial Ivy opener. His return was remarkably seamless. Simple story: without Davis lose close games, with him win a big one. 4th seed possible and thatās quite a turnaround from December. All those shared minutes will pay big dividends
Dartmouth and Princeton are the only 2-0 teams.
Just as we all thought?
Obviously too early but Cornell being 0-2 with 2 home losses is ominous. An Ithaca Ivy Madness with no Cornell would be brutal.
When I watch Cornell, Iām surprised they lose to any non-great team. Their system is a nightmare machine when itās clicking. They looked so impressive in non-conf, even in defeat.
Yet Columbia and Dartmouth (sans Thomas) had no problem playing in the 100s. I donāt know if our guys feel the same, but weāll see.
I agree, I was really high on them. Thought that deep bench and the style they played would be tough to overcome in the Ivy tournament. Seems as they have no interest in defending since the calendar turned December though. Top 10ish bottom defensive team in the country efficiency wise on the year
Dartmouth with the most impressive win on the road in Ithaca. Harvardās road win at Columbia close second. Princeton holds serve at home over Yale. Most people had Dartmouth in last place this year.
and Princeton in 7th. Beating a Yale team that everyone picked to cruise through the League is a real achievement, whether you recognize it or not.
Exactly. Beating Penn by 2 at home was āholding serve.ā Beating Yale, the unanimous Ivy favorites who were 160+ places ahead of us in KenPom, by 16 was incredibly surprising/impressive. Even at home, we were 7-8pt underdogs.
As for Columbia, they were playing without Bedri, their top rebounder and 2nd leading scorer. Thatās a tough break.
Iām still very afraid of Cornell, but they lost to both Columbia and Dartmouth at home. Not sure how good theyāll be in Ivy play. I still think itās extremely impressive that Dartmouth won without Thomas, though.
This league is won on the road. Princetonās win was a mild surprise but not a shock. Dartmouth winning huge in Ithaca is a shock. If Princeton wins in New Haven that will be very impressive.
Oh come on, Princetonās win is BY FAR the most impressive win. And Cornell and Columbia were overrated. Anyone who saw the Columbia-Cornell game knew both teams had real deficiencies.
A mild surprise?? Surely you jest.
Thank you for being objective. Joe Lunardi even gave us a backhanded shoutout because it was so shocking.

⢠Most miserable loss of the day games may have been Yale at Princeton (likely putting Dartmouth in the next bracket!)
Princeton had back to back 54 point second halves!!! Do not expect to do that again. Would not be surprised if there is 6 team log jam after the next weekend. Donāt count Cornell out yet!
