This is the time. This is probably the most important game of the season. A win basically gives us a solo Ivy league title, 1st seed for ILT, and a good enough resume to get an at-large bid if we don’t win the championship. Tomorrow is the day to prove that we are a march team. What will Megan change from the Harvard game to get the win this time? Over 7-player rotation? What did we learn from the first half against Princeton at Levien?
This might be the most important regular season game of Megan’s career… still work to do after this one, but a win likely gives Columbia its first ever outright title.
If Megan wants to press for 40 minutes… and I see no reason not to, then I’d like to see more minutes from the bench players… Simmons, Page, and Broom. They’re all athletic, and very capable. That will help wear down Princeton and keep Kitty, Collins, and Weiss fresh during crunch time in the 4th quarter.
I could not agree more with those sentiments. We also need a stronger game inisde from Suzie Rafiu against Parker-Hill. The red head from Princeton was dominant in the 1st half in Morningside Heights.
First change comes from the starting line-up. Page replaces Avlijas. Makes sense given the size of Princeton and that you don’t need such an active guard on defense as there is no Harmoni Turner in front
Yesss!!! What a game!! Weiss is definitely something else!
But the starting lineup clearly reflects response to injury; not strategic as you implied.
I dont think we win if not for Perri Page replacing Avlijas. Perri brings so many intangibles.
Go cry somewhere else, hater.
I didn’t know she was injured when I wrote it, plus you have no idea if it would have been the same if she was available or not. I guess you will have to ask Griffith herself to prove me wrong
be nice
Avlijas, Page and all the genius on-line strategery seem almost irrelevant. Weiss put on a spectacular performance. She played her best game when we really needed it. Hats of to Riley.
True
Riley Weiss… wow. And how about that clutch 3 from Kitty with 18 sec to go?!? Her only 3-pt attempt of the game.
Not about hate - just asking you to be accountable. You had NO idea it was strategic when you wrote it - you took the liberty of assuming something was when it wasn’t! And, at your advanced age, you should know that when you assume, you tend to make an ass out of the reader and writer, both.
Great shot by Kitty, but I think she needs to improve her foul shooting. It could hurt us in a big game
I hope this gives her the confidence to go back to her shooting percentage of last season. Because shooting (3-pt and FT) has been her only weak point this season
Princeton seemed to have little trouble with the press tonight… they looked well prepared, but wondering if the absence of Avlijas played a factor.
Indeed… she seems to have lost her confidence, but she has traditionally come through big time in big games. The NCAA game vs Vanderbilt last season and the WNIT final vs Kansas a couple years ago come to mind.
I see you are still hurt from when I proved you wrong last time. I just gave my opinion regarding the change in line-up, without knowing Avlijas was injured. I still think it made sense (and it clearly paid off), so I see no reason to retract my comment. Moreover it’s just my opinion lol, don’t take it that personal
Harvard was also better getting out of our press last weekend. They have good coaches, and our press has been very similar for the last month, so I guess they just adapted and prepared well for it
