Any thoughts on where xaivian lee may be drafted, if at all?
I would be surprised if he is drafted. He’ll have to up his stock in the Summer League and try and get a 2 way contract unless he has a good Europe offer.
Saw a video, he barely acknowledged princeton. Talked up his Fla season. Probably fade into G league obscurity.
He had a couple of two-way offers even after after sophomore year. I imagine he’ll get and accept a two-way this time.
Coulda stayed and got the degree and the two way. The league will give you a shot if they believe in your talent wherever you play college ball.

Not the most enthusiastic assessment. Hope it turns out well for him, but I suspect NBA teams will be leery of that respectable but modest SEC performance.

Speaking of the draft … it’s pretty crazy that one of the 3-star kids who decommitted from Harvard last year—Ebuka Okorie—ended up having such a spectacular freshman year for Stanford that he just got drafted 17th overall. Going to take awhile to get over that.

Amaker could get players no other Ivy can get—but is getting hurt badly by the New World Order.
But that’s the irony: Okorie wasn’t a top recruit, the kind of guy you’d worry about getting poached in the new NIL world. He was a relatively under-the-radar 3-star kid; yes, a very good recruit for the Ivies, but nothing crazy. He didn’t even have any high-major offers until Stanford swooped in at the end.
Or maybe Amaker has a particular eye for talent.
I think Okorie grew quite a bit his junior year of high school. He went from being a lightning quick 5’10" point guard—think of him as a stronger, scoring version of Siyani Chambers—to a lightning quick 6’2" point guard. That’s a big, big difference. That’s why I was a lot higher on him than his recruiting rankings suggested. Verbal Commits didn’t show he had decommitted until well after the fact, so I didn’t realize he had left us until I checked Twitter to see some of his senior year highlights … and the top result was about him switching his commitment to Stanford.
Every time I checked on him this year, it got more devastating. Top five scorer in the country as a freshman. Drafted 17th overall. Between him and Elzie Harrington—the top 50 kid who decommitted as well—we had an absolutely epic recruiting class lined up … and none of them ended up playing for us (Not to mention Alex Touomou, our top-ranked recruit who did end up staying, but missed the entire season with injury).
Yup. Penn really had everything go their way to get into and win that tournament last year and Harvard’s offensive struggles were largely due to the players they lost. If they have Okorie, fuggettaboutit.

Lee signs an Exhibit 10 deal with the Cavs. Basically a training camp/summer league invite that could become a two-way offer. The millions he made at Florida are surely worth it, but his NBA offer regressed after a season in the SEC.
Didn’t realize he also played at Florida State per CBS. Mr. AI is not an astute BB observer.
G league. He can take online classes during the 8 hour bus rides.

If he wants to stick he’s going to have to make sure that he is aggressive offensively. As PG he will have to call his own number a lot, because he is not going to make it as a catch-and-shoot guy.
